Memorial walk for cancer foundation
Andover The second annual David Nasto Memorial Walk for Oral Cancer Awareness will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Perona Farms. The funds raised from this memorial walk are to benefit the Oral Cancer Foundation to support their programs of awareness, education, advocacy and research. The event will also include free oral cancer screenings conducted by local Sussex County dentists and a presentation by Dr. Jerry Wilck, an oral cancer survivor and dentist. Wry Toast Band will provide live music and the first 150 who register before Sept. 1 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Throughout the day, there will be free refreshments, face painting for the children and prize raffles. A registration fee of $20 is required for each walker and registration begins at 9 a.m. The 3.5-mile walk starts at the Perona Farms barn at 11 a.m., rain or shine. Participants will receive a route map at registration. The registration fee is free for each participant attaining at least $20 in sponsorships. The walker obtaining the most money in sponsorship donations will receive a special grand prize. Walkers may pre-register at www.oralcancer.org by clicking on the Events/Current OCF Events.
