Netcong — The Growing Stage Children’s Theater of New Jersey will host three book club opportunities, sponsored by Target, to coincide with the Feb. 20, 26 and March 7 showings of “Lyle the Crocodile.” Following the show at no extra charge, there will be a sit-down session with director Stephen Fredericks and several designers and artists. They will discuss the differences between the original Bernard Waber book, the staged adaptation by playwright Kevin Kling and the direction of the show at The Growing Stage. The book club will meet in the Art Gallery located on the 2nd floor of the theater on the balcony. While there is no additional cost to participate in the club, notify the box office when making reservations for the performance. “Lyle the Crocodile” is recommended for all ages and runs approximately 70 minutes including intermission. It will run from Feb. 19 to March 28 with showings on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m. The Growing Stage’s home, the Historic Palace Theater in Netcong, is the only theater in New Jersey solely dedicated to professional theater for young audiences For more information, to purchase tickets or to make reservations for the book club, visit www.growingstage.com or call the box office at 973-347-4946.
