Newton — Agnes Rizzo of Branchville, a self-taught photographer, is exhibiting a collection of her work for the next six weeks at Andre’s Restaurant & Wine Boutique in Newton. The photographs feature scenes from her travels to both France and Italy. “It has been said that finding a beautiful picture in an ordinary situation is the main focal point of my style of photography,” said Rizzo. “I am particularly fond of the gondola picture from Italy. It looks like a painting it has so much texture to it,” said Andre’s owner Tracey deWaal. “Agnes’ photographs fill our dining room with such warmth and bring back so many wonderful memories of our honeymoon in France.” This picture is of the town of Cassis, France. All of the photographs are for sale and Rizzo is donating 20 percent of the profits of the sales to Katie’s House, a local group home and activity center for developementally disabled young adults. Rizzo’s photographs are the third exhibit to adorn the walls at Andre’s since their renovation in May of last year. Local pastel artist Ros Hollander and local photographer Kevin O’Brien preceded the current exhibit. Any artist interested in being considered for an exhibit can contact Andre or Tracey deWaal at 973-300-4192. The photographs are on display Wednesday through Sunday after 5 p.m. Andre’s is located at 188 Spring St., in Newton.
