Local farm and business provide fresh veggies for grillers

YMCA volunteers and directors who participated in the Champion of the Grill event at the Fairgrounds last month treated the community to an array of locally-grown vegetables including eggplants, bell peppers and zucchini lightly marinated and freshly grilled. Produce, other ingredients and grilling supplies were donated by Ideal Farms of Lafayette and Weis Markets of Franklin and Newton. “The Champion of the Grill’s Healthy Grilling for Healthy Living was a perfect category for us to enter,” said YMCA’s Executive Director David Carcieri. “Sussex County farms provide our residents with a wonderful assortment of delicious vegetables and it was great to get the children involved in the whole preparation and tasting process.”
