Knowlton Riverfest to morph into Skylands Music and Arts Festival
KNOWLTON TWP The Skylands Music and Arts Festival will take place on the same weekend, on the same grounds, with the same tradition of music, and with many of the same organizers, as the former Knowlton Riverfest. The festival, hosted by Knowlton Township, is set for the weekend of Aug. 14 to 16 at the Hunter’s Lodge Field on Route 46 in Delaware. “We are really excited about the new name,” said last year’s event coordinator, Renee Huntley, who will remain on the executive committee with several other Knowlton Riverfest veterans. “The festival continues its wholehearted support of Knowlton Township but will also promote the event as a regional showcase.” Organizers said the festival “has long been the region’s most popular music event, attracting thousands of people from around the tri-state area over the course of its three days.” The Acoustic Tent will again showcase acoustic artists from throughout the region on Friday and all day Saturday. On Sunday, the acoustic tent will again feature readings by local authors and poets. Throughout the weekend, the festival’s Vendor Village will provide concert-goers with a shopping experience and the International food-way will present an assortment of foods and beverages. Festivarians are welcome to take the short hike down to the banks of the Delaware River. Visit www.skylands.org or e-mail info@skylands.org for more information.
