ANDOVER — Ogdensburg native Shana (Sabourin) Gordon and her husband Kris have been married for seven years and are active members of the community. On March 22, 2009 they welcomed Maya into their world. But right before Christmas, Maya was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called familia HLH. Maya has been undergoing chemotherapy, but the cure for her illness lies in a bone marrow transplant. The expense is overwhelming. Dad Kris is a state corrections officer and Mom Shana is a stylist at Ultima Salon in Andover. To help the family, Ultima Salon will hold a cut-a-thon fundraiser on Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. hair cuts will be $25; a hair cut and blow dry will be $35. There will be about a dozen stylists on hand. Proceeds will go to help the Gordon Family. The salon is located at 253 Newton-Sparta Road in Andover. 973-579-1199.
