Gallery exhibits holiday art

Newton — The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council will host an artists reception at its Newton gallery on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. The annual tree lighting will be held during the reception, plus guitarist George Stritter, of Newton, will perform. Refreshments will be served. Painter Toni Chaplin is the featured artist for the Holiday Arts exhibit. Her winter scenes are available for purchase, along with many other holiday-themed art objects. The exhibit will be on display until Jan. 9, 2010. The gallery is located at 133 Spring St.
