Film on Lyme Disease at Vernon High School
Vernon “Under Our Skin,” an award winning documentary about the debilitating effects of Lyme disease will be shown at the Vernon Township High School Auditorium on Wednesday, April 1 at 7 p.m. “Under Our Skin” is a production of Open Eye Pictures of Sausalito, Ca. and filmmaker Andy Abrahams Wilson. The film “investigates the human, medical and political dimensions of Lyme disease,” officials said, and “spotlights this emerging epidemic that is destroying countless lives. Lyme disease is among the most misunderstood and controversial illnesses in recent medical history.” “Under Our Skin” was an audience choice award finalist at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it had its world premiere. This past fall the film was awarded the “Freddie” award. A representative from the Lyme Disease Association will be holding a question and answer period after the film is shown.
