Fighting Parkinson's with laughter

Sparta — Local comic Phil Sweet and his stand-up ensemble the Late Shift will perform Friday, April 30, at the American Legion Post 344 at 210 Chestnut Terrace in Rockaway. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 (cash or check at the door) which includes munchies, one drink ticket and a cash bar. (Beer and wine is $2.50, soda, $0.50) The show will benefit the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. The show will feature six stand-up comedians from Pennsylvania and New York, as well as New Jersey. They are hoping to raise $1,000 to support the foundation and to promote increased awareness of Parkinson’s. Reservations are required. Call 973-726-0407.
