Father of the Bride' at Jeff High starts July 24
JEFFERSON The Jefferson Community Players’ summer production of “Father of the Bride,” a comedy by Caroline Francke, on July 24, 25, 26, 31 and Aug. 1 at the Jefferson Township High School. The stage play “Father of the Bride” is based upon the novel by Edward Street, has been translated into film versions that featured Spencer Tracy and Steve Martin in the role of “Stanley Banks.” Banks has just learned that Buckley Dunstan, one of the young men he has seen about the house courting his daughter, Kay, is about to become his son-in-law. Kay and Buckley don’t want a big wedding just a simple affair with a few friends. The simple wedding plans take comedic turns as the guest list grows larger, the additions of a wedding planner, a caterer, a florist and dressmaker subtract from Banks’ savings and divide the Banks’ household. The excitement multiplies when Kay wants to call off the wedding. Will Banks allow his daughter to be married off to an “overgrown ham with shoulders?” Can Buckley handle the pressure of his wedding day? The play is produced and directed by Craig Moore, assisted by Leanne Kolvik. The cast members include Thom Florio, Lynda Kolvik, Dina Nicholas, Kevin Arata, David Toli, Craig Stevens, Danielle Perez, Krysia Dour, Brenda Schreier, Tania Kallish, Vania Sousa, Cristina Sousa and Madhuri Gummadi.
