Hackettstown — Centenary College will hold a celebration called “Building on Equine Excellence” at 1 p.m. at its Equestrian Center in Washington Township, on Saturday, Nov. 14. It will feature a clinic for Centenary students by renowned equitation trainer Michael Henaghan, followed by tours of the center, a silent auction and a reception to meet Henaghan and showcase the equestrian studies program at Centenary. Henaghan has been a professional horseman for the past 45 years. He is currently residing in Greenwich, Conn., training at Peter Leone’s Lionshare Farm, while continuing to teach. He has coached students to wins in the ASPCA-Maclay and AHSA Medal finals, the USET Medal finals and top national award in all Hunter divisions, particularly in the Junior and Pony ranks. “I am pleased that Centenary’s Equine program is being highlighted in such a manner and Michael Henaghan will be part of this celebration,” said Kelly Munz, associate professor of Equine Studies and chair of the Equine Dept.
