Crawfish Fest will come to fairgrounds

    AUGUSTA — Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Fest will bring the sounds and taste of New Orleans and Louisiana to the Sussex County Fairgrounds on the weekend of May 29, 30 and 31. On the bill: The Radiators, JJ Grey & Mofro, Marcia Ball, Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience, Tab Benoit, Pine Leaf Boys, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Bonerama, and ATrombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Assembly of Dust, Guitar Shorty and Papa Grows Funk. In addition to music, the fest will offer boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes, pork sausage and chicken Jambalaya, grilled alligator sausage, shrimp Creole, fried catfish, raw oysters and po-boys. All dishes are $8 or less. New this year will be the Uptown Bar and The Bayou Bar, which will sell beer and hard liquor. Tickets will also be available at the gate. Adult one-day tickets start at $35. Free parking is available. The Fairgrounds are located at 37 Plains Road, in Augusta, off Route 80 at Exit 34B.
