Church toy sale will include new and used items
Newton Christ Church will sponsor a sale of new and gently-used toys on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. “The parishioners of Christ Church recognize that there are many people in our community who cannot afford to shop for new toys for their children this Christmas,” said the Reverend Robert Griner, rector of Christ Church. “We will be offering used items in excellent condition, as well as new toys which have been purchased by our parishioners as their way of helping those who are having trouble this year. This event is a perfect example of neighbors helping neighbors during a time when many people may feel disadvantaged or alone.” The toy sale will feature a wide variety of items including electronics, sports equipment, games, puzzles, craft supplies, books, computer and video games, dolls, cars and trucks, baby and toddler items, as well as things more appropriate for older children and teens. All proceeds will benefit the poor in the diocese of Panama. Christ Church is located at the intersection of Church Street and Route 206 in downtown Newton.
