Auditions upcoming for West Milford Players “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” West Milford Auditions for the West Milford Players’ “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” will take place on Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. The story is based on the “Miracle on 34th Street” story by Valentine Davies, screenplay by George Seaton. Roles are available for kids age 10 and up as well as adults. Lead roles and ensemble are needed. Callbacks are by request only and will take place on Friday, Aug. 28 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. All will take place at the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford. This production will be directed by Gina Piazza Hodes and Aimee Greenspan. The musical director is John Dunkerley and choreographer is Erika Crocco. As the classic story goes, Kris Kringle takes on the cynics among us in the musical adaptation of the popular holiday favorite “Miracle on 34th St.”. A white- bearded gentleman claiming to be the real Santa Claus spreads a genuine wave of love throughout New York City, fostering camaraderie between rivals department stores Macy’s and Gimbel’s and convincing a divorced, cynical single mother, her somber daughter and the entire state of New York that Santa Claus is no myth. Those auditioning for a singing role should be prepared to sing a traditional or contemporary Broadway song of your choice a capella or bring sheet music. You may also be asked to learn a simple dance step. Sides will be provided. In keeping with the West Milford Players Tradition of giving back to the Community, Some proceeds to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The show dates are Nov. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. Precocious, self-sufficient city girl. 10-13 (appears 10). Stong singer/belter (May double cast this role) Fred Gaily: Military captain, handsome, smart, hopeful and warm. Mustering out into civilian life. Strong singer, Baritone 30+. Fred’s Marine friends: Alvin, Whitey, Climber 25+ Marvin Shellhammer: An aggressive but somewhat bungling junior executive. Strong singer, Baritone 30+. Tammany O’Halloran: A political boss. 30+. Strong singer, Tenor. R.H. Macy: The boss 40+. Clara: A legal secretary 25+. Judge Martin Group: of the N.Y. State Supreme Court 40+. Henrika: A Dutch girl age 10-11. Henrika’s mother: 25+. Mr. Sawyer: The store psychologist, shady 25+. Mrs. Finfer: His mother 50+. Miss Crookshank: Mr. Sawyer’s secretary 25+. Murphy: A night watchman. Thomas Mara Sr.: The district attorney 30+.
