Big band concert benefits will swing county college

Newton — The Performing Arts Center at Sussex County Community College will be the scene for the Big Band Holiday Concert, featuring the Somers Dream Orchestra and student choirs. There will be three shows this year, held Saturday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. The Big Band Holiday - The Tradition Continues concerts will blend the talents of the Somers Dream Orchestra’s professional musicians with those of local student choral groups. Featured at this year’s performances will be choirs from Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Saturday at the 2 p.m. show, Newton High School at the 7 p.m. show, and the Halsted Middle School on Sunday at the 3 p.m. show.
