Annual public hearing announced

NEWTON — The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services (Area Agency on Aging), and its advisory council will be holding their annual public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed Area Plan Contract Update for 2014.

This update provides information on what services will be funded in Sussex County through the Older American’s Act of 1965, as amended Funding for 2014, along with the names of the agencies providing the services.

The public hearing provides an opportunity for members to present information to the local Area Agency on Aging regarding the needs of seniors in Sussex County.

The public hearing will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Sparta Senior Center, 39 Trapasso Drive, Sparta, New Jersey.

A copy of the 2013-2015 Area Plan Contract, which identifies services funded by the Sussex County Area Agency on Aging, can be obtained by visiting www.sussex.nj.us.

Persons interested in testifying in person at the public hearing or planning to submit written testimony are asked to contact the Sussex County Division of Senior Services by June 3, at 973-579-0555 ext 1222.
