April 1Sheila Roe-Celentano, 44, of Franklin pleaded guilty to one count of resisting arrest, a third-degree crime, one count of obstruction, a fourth-degree crime and to one count of simple assault, a disorderly persons offense.
In pleading guilty, Celentano admitted that on Nov. 2, 2018, she purposely did prevent Newton Law Enforcement Officer, Sgt. Robert Vander Ploeg, from effecting a lawful arrest by using physical force against the officer and to obstructing Law Enforcement Officers from effecting a lawful arrest by shouting obscenities and threatening kicks in their direction. Later that same day, she admitted to purposely causing bodily injury to another person in Newton.
Louise Ezzo, 45, of Sussex pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property, a third-degree crime, one count of use of a stolen credit card, a third-degree crime, and one count of credit cart theft-receiving lost/mislaid credit card, a fourth-degree crime.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 10.
Ezzo admitted to obtaining a lost or mislaid purse and to taking a credit card from the purse and using the credit card to purchase merchandise.
The case was investigated by Trooper McCarthy of the New Jersey State Police.
April 5Joseph G. Zonca, 38, of Wantage was sentenced to two years of probation concurrent and co-terminous with his Passaic County Drug Court probation with credit for 460 days of time served.
He was ordered to pay joint and several restitution of $2,400 and fines and fees totaling $675.
He pleaded guilty on Oct. 26, 2018, to Conspiracy and Burglary, third-degree crimes.
The defendant conspired with another to enter an unoccupied Wantage home on Jan. 22, 2017, for the purpose of removing copper from within.
Briana Katzenstein, 29, of Newton was sentenced to 2 years of probation with credit for time previously served in custody. She was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and following any and all recommendations made from same, complete 40 hours of community service work, successfully complete an approved anger management program and pay fines and fees totaling $280.
She pleaded guilty on Dec. 17, 2018, to resisting arrest, a third degree crime, and Attempted Aggravated Assault, a fourth-degree crime.
The defendant attempted to cause injury to Patrolman Anthony Keiling of the Newton Police Department and used physical force against Patrolman Keiling to prevent arrest.
Matthew Heyman, 27, of North Yonkers, New York, was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act (NERA) and three years of parole supervision following his release from custody. He was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $5,894. His driver license was ordered suspended for seven years to run concurrently to a one year driver license suspension for Driving While Intoxicated. He must utilize an ignition interlock device for 12 months and attend 12 hours at the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center.
He pleaded guilty on Nov. 28, 2018, to vehicular homicide, a second-degree crime, and driving while intoxicated, a motor vehicle violation.
The defendant drove while intoxicated on January 29, 2016, on County Route 565 (Glenwood Road) in Vernon, crossed the double yellow center lines and caused a head-on collision in which an individual died.
John Regan, 53, of Wayne was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations and pay $155 in court fines and fees.
He pleaded guilty on Feb. 5, 2019, to driving while suspended for a second or subsequent DWI, a crime of the fourth degree.
During a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police, the defendant was found to be driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended driver’s license for previously having two or more DWI’s.
