Sussex County Sheriff Michael F. Strada joined Mrs. Shannon Percey's first graders at Ogdensburg School to read Pete the Cat and celebrate his own love of reading while motivating the children to read.
Strada realizes reading is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers.
The National Education Association's Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2 — Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books.
