Free Community Health and Wellness Fair at PSS

Public Health. Project Self-Sufficiency will host a Community Health and Wellness Fair on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019.

A free Community Health & Wellness Fair will be hosted by Project Self-Sufficiency on Thursday, Oct. 10, at noon - 4 p.m. The event will feature screenings by community health organizations, interactive educational exhibits, and up-to-date information about blood pressure, anxiety, depression, body/mass index, nutrition, diabetes, skin cancer, and vaccines. Free hearing screenings will be offered by Hearing Life.

Dental services will be available by appointment, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; some income guidelines apply. The free Community Health & Wellness Fair will take place at Project Self-Sufficiency’s Community Education Center, located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.

Representatives from local community health organizations will be on site, including DASI; Hearing Life; Morris County Prevention is Key; NAMI; Newton Medical Center, Community Health Information, New Vitality Senior Program, Cardiology and Heart Health; NORWESCAP Senior Reach Program; Project Self-Sufficiency; Safe Kids Northern NJ; Shop Rite of Newton; SNAP Ed; Sussex County Division of Health Public Health Nursing; Sussex County Special Child Health Services; Zufall Health Center; and others.

The Community Health & Wellness Fair is free and open to the public; advance registration is required for the dental services.
