Gary James Richards, a lifelong resident of Oak Ridge, N.J., passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021. He was 56.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1964, in Dover, N.J., to Noreen Mary Mikowski Richards and the late Kenneth William Richards.

Gary was a faithful parishioner of the Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, N.J.

For many years Gary coached softball and wrestling in Jefferson Township, N.J., and is the current president of the Cozy Lake Association, as he loved to swim and spend time at the lake.

Gary helped many recovering addicts as he regained life after his own addiction, also attending many Bible study groups.

He loved and enjoyed his family as well as the outdoors, especially fishing, mountain biking, and cycling.

Gary loved music, playing the guitar, and learning about history and the military. He was an avid New York Islanders fan, New York Yankees fan, and LA Rams fan.

Gary was predeceased by his dear father, Kenneth Richards.

He is survived by his former wives, Dawn Ahearn, mother of Rebekkah and Garrett Richards; and Constance Gibbs Richards, mother of Breanna and Ryan Richards; his loving fiancé, Kimberley Mosher; his cherished children, Rebekkah Richards and her husband, David McLagan, of Highland Lakes, N.J., Garrett Richards and his significant other, Samantha Nunez of Budd Lake, N.J., Breanna Richards and her significant other, Dave Halczli of Sparta, N.J., and Ryan Richards of Oak Ridge; his beloved mother, Noreen Mary Richards; his dear siblings, Michael Richards of Oak Ridge and Katherine Richards of Stillwater, N.J.; many nieces and nephews; and his adored dog, Boo.

Memorial visitation was held April 15 at Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, Newfoundland, N.J. Final disposition will be private.
