David Louis Gorcica, age 59, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the University of Virginia Health Care Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Born in Denville to the late Louis and Ursula (Abate) Gorcica, David lived in Sussex County for most of his life until moving to Orange, Virginia four years ago. He had been currently employed in the maintenance department at the University of Virginia Health Care Center in Charlottesville. David was a member of the Hampton Township Fire Department, the Franklin Fire Department and First Aid Squad, and was active in the Sussex County Forestry Service. He is survived by his daughter, Dee-Jae Frayko and her husband Chris of Hamburg; his grandchildren, Ezekiel andWyatt; his fiancé, Nancy Farber and her children, Katie Louise Dufford and her husband Jerry, Donald A. Grau, Jr. and his fiancé Ashley Skellenger, and Cynthia Anne Grau and her fiance Mario Matias and their children. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Memorial services and fireman services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation services have been entrusted to the Pinkel Funeral Home.
