Jefferson police to host Bike n Trike

| 11 Jun 2018 | 04:27

The Jefferson Township Police Department is hosting the first Police Bike N’ Trike Chase as part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign. Join the JTPD in a Bike Ride/Chase around Lake Shawnee on Saturday, June 16th at 9 am (rain or shine). Cyclists can begin checking in at Stanlick School by 8 am, 121 E Shawnee Trail, Wharton, NJ, 07885.
    All ages are welcome.
Bikers age 12 and under will be riding a small loop from Stanlick School, making a left out of the parking lot, turning around at the intersection of Hurdtown and Shawnee Trail, then returning to the school. Policemen will follow behind on their bikes and the goal is to complete the loop and beat the policemen back to the school!
Bikers age 13 and up — and the younger riders if they want to — will have the option of completing a larger loop which will continue past the school and go all the way around the lake back to Stanlick School.
As part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, this FREE event is being offered to encourage residents of all ages to get out and get healthy.
Adults and children alike are encouraged to join in for this second annual Bike Chase. Healthy refreshments will be served in the school’s all-purpose room for bikers to snack on after their ride.
