Zoe Markham, 16, of Hardyston Township will compete for the title of Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2018 Oct. 13-15 at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany.
For her part in the pageant’s humanitarian service project, she is conducting a coat drive through Oct.11 to benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters agencies of New Jersey. She encourages people to help youths and their families by donating new and gently used coats at The Daily Bean coffee shop (514 Rte. 515, Vernon), Kohl’s (11 N. Park Dr., Newton) or Lafayette Federated Church (180 Rte. 15, Lafayette).
Markham, a high school junior, is homeschooled and takes dual-enrollment classes at Sussex County Community College. She also attends Faith Center for the Arts, where she has studied several instruments as well as art and drama, and plays saxophone in its symphonic and jazz bands. She enjoys being active in her church youth group and volunteering.
The young woman chosen as Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2018 will represent the state in the national pageant and spend her year as a teen ambassador.
