    Petty Officer David Vanarsdale receives his promotion from Navy Information Operations Detachment GrotonþÄôs officer in charge Lt. Cmdr. Ryan Haag.

David T. Vanarsdale of Franklin has been promoted to the rank of petty officer third class in the U.S. Navy.
Vanarsdale is currently serving as maintenance technician with Navy Information Operations Detachment Groton, Submarine Base New London, Conn. He has served in the military for one year.
He is a 2015 graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Franklin, N.J.
Vanarsdale was promoted through the Accelerated Advancement program, a program that requires sailors to meet a set of specific requirements to receive the early advancement.
