Students in Ms. Fedynich's enrichment class at Franklin Borough School were excited to participate in the STEAM Tank challenge at NJIT this past Saturday.
Out of 161 submissions, 52 ideas, two being from Franklin, were selected to present at regionals. From there, 37 teams were selected to compete at the finals in Atlantic City this coming October.
The app idea “Road Riders” was one of the 37 invited to finals. For the last two months, the students created pitches, prototypes, and presentations about their different app inventions.
The 7th grade team created an app to battle hunger, and the 6th grade team invented “Road Riders,” an app that prevents texting and driving.
