Troop 90 goes to Alpine Scout reservation

| 09 May 2017 | 11:16

Franklin Troop 90 took a contingent of scouts to Alpine Scout Reservation for a Cabin Camping weekend.
During the outing the troop went on a 7-mile nature hike where we had the opportunity to see the views from the cliffs in Alpine overlooking the Hudson River
and viewing Yonkers on the New York side of the river.
During the hike, the scouts had the opportunity to visit several monuments and lookouts along the trail.
After returning from the hike, the boys visited the fort at the Camp where they played games with some of the other troops in Camp.
For breakfast the boys cooked breakfast burritos, we packed a bag lunch for our hike, and we cooked hobo dinner (cheeseburger with vegetables cooked over a campfire).
Saturday evening, the boys had their signature rose/bud/thorn Around the campfire, and described what they liked about the trip, did not like about the trip, and were looking forward to next.
They cleaned up the next morning and loaded their trailer before departing for Franklin.
