The American Legion Post 423 conducted a flag raising ceremony at the Berkshire Valley Golf Course that started a Golf Outing for the benefit of Fischer House and Arnie's Army.
A little over 100 players participated in the outing. This was part of a nation wide fund raising activity.
The Fisher House program provides temporary housing for the families of wounded personnel in a Military or Veterans Hospital. The housing is offered free to the families allowing them to be close to their loved one during a medical crisis and the healing process.
There are 70 Fisher Houses located in the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.
