Franklin Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post 132 held its annual Post American Legion coloring contest which was open to fourth- and 5th grade students. These are the winning entries from among the 175 entries sent to the Franklin American Legion, received from local schools.
This year's drawing was of the High Point State Park Monument. It is a patriotic coloring contest and was judged at all levels for accuracy and neatness. Students were instructed not to alter or add additional artwork to the coloring picture.
First place went to fifth-grader Sarah Coscia of Hardyston Middle School, second place went to fifth-grader Jackie Schels of Hamburg Elementary School and third place went to fourth-grader Thomas Morris of Ogdensburg Elementary School. Honorable mentions were fourth-grader Tiziana Maldonado of Hardyston Elementary School and fourth-grader Keira Donegan of Ogdensburg Elementary School.
The first-place entry will be forwarded to the Sussex County American Legion where it will compete with other Sussex County American Legion Posts entries for County first Place.
The winner from the county will be forwarded to the state level — the American Legion Department of New Jersey.
