The kids at K.E.E.P.’s Summer Camp celebrated the Olympics with Sports FANtastic Week.
They learned about the history of the Olympics and ancient Olympic games as well as sports in general.
"Sports are always a popular activity,” said Executive Director Christine Milligan “but with the excitement of the beginning of the Summer Olympics in Brazil the kids especially enjoyed this week.”
The beginning of the week they made their own torches and had a torch relay. They played water balloon whiffle ball, soccer, fitness bingo and learned about health and nutrition. They also had a hilarious three-legged race and played sideline soccer. Of course a week celebrating the Olympics wouldn’t be complete without medals so the kids had fun designing and making medals for the award ceremony which was held at the end of a truly FANtastic week! K.E.E.P.'s Summer Camp will run until September 2. There are more fun times ahead which includes daily swimming at White Lake and more theme week activities. It's not too late to join the fun for some or all of the remaining camp days. For more information visit the website at www.keepkids.org or call 973-383-2213.
