HARDYSTON — Despite a leaden sky and occasional light rain, the Doggie Luau at the It’s Your Dog School for Dogs proved to be a success with dozens of dogs and their humans coming out for a fun afternoon and delicious people food as well.
The event marked a dozen years of the facility’s dog training efforts. The afternoon included games for people and their pups including “Musical Sits” to the musical song “To Walk the Dog” and the inviting chance to bob for hotdogs. There were also free gifts, prizes, and a photo op in front of a tropical backdrop.
The facility is know its “hands-off” dog training style, in which dogs learn without physical prompting or corrections and even offers Puppy Preschool for puppies between 10 to 20 weeks of age. With a Hamburg mailing address, the school is located at 3640 Route 94.
