The Ogdensburg Council reviewed many topics at their meeting on including unanimously approving a contract with Aquatic Analysts for the 2016 season.
Mayor Steve Ciasullo said Aquatic Analysts will do more this year to improve Heater Pond's water quality, because everyone at the town meeting wanted to save Heater's Pond and rebuild the dam. Ciasullo said the pond will be nicer than it has been in a long time.
Ciasullo also said they are waiting for final approval from the state of New Jersey regarding the Heater's Pond Dam Engineering plan. Only minor changes to the plan are necessary.
Councilwoman Rachel Slater said the Clean Communities Grant money will go to Trash and Recycling cans for Heater's Pond.
Councilman George Hutnick said they are waiting for an estimate regarding information technology support of borough computers. Ciasullo later said the borough will also get two other estimates.
Councilman Robert McGuire brought up for discussion foreclosing on approximately nine properties and then auctioning them. The Council agreed to go forward.
Councilman David Astor brought up replacing two old cross walk signs, which the Council agreed to replace.
Councilman Peter Opilla gave an update on possibly buying new software from the meter reading company for the Water Department to use.
Finally, the Council decided to print information on tax bills regarding penalties, when taxes are paid late. Ciasullo said this way people will be aware of what they could be charged.
