Peters Valley School of Craft will host an open house on Sunday, May 1, from noon until 5 p.m.
Demonstrators will work in the blacksmithing/sculpture, ceramics, fibers, weaving, fine metals/jewelry, woodworking and special topics/glass studios. Glass Routes will demonstrate glass blowing and a slew of other artists will demonstrate their unique crafts in other campus locations. There will even be an interactive art project for all and a kids' art activity area.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch artists forge metal, weave cloth, turn wood, carve sculptures, create jewelry, etc. Parents can meet the instructors of our Youth Art Camps and sign their kids up for a session! We also invite you to tour our current gallery exhibition. In addition you can browse the gallery's first floor which showcases the work of over 200 American artists. The Walpack Historical Society will display fascinating photos and literature about the history of the area.
As always there will be food available throughout the day and live music by Carl Ferriere (12-1), Joseph Henry (1:30 - 2:30) and Joe McKay (3-4).
