Pauline Riggio, a lifelong resident and businesswoman from Franklin, N.J., passed away peacefully on Jan. 14 from complications after a brief illness.

Pauline dedicated her life to caring for her Italian-immigrant parents, Tomasina and Anthony Riggio and their family business. Along with her parents and brother, George, she managed Riggio's Market, an Italian grocery that served Franklin for over 65 years. A talented athlete, Pauline skied, ice-skated, hiked, and loved to swim. She enjoyed traveling and took her first trip to Europe on the Andrea Doria in 1953 with her sister Jane. Pauline was a great chef, an avid gardener, and she loved to entertain her extended family with memorable celebrations and holiday dinners.

The youngest daughter of eight children, Pauline is survived by her 91-year-old younger brother, George, of Franklin; her older sister, Jane Agati, of Marietta, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews, who loved their vibrant Aunt Paunie dearly.

A family celebration of her life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Newton, N.J., or the Franklin Historical Society, Franklin, N.J.
