Ogdensburg plans kindergarten registration

    The Ogdensburg school will hold Kindergarten for children 5 years old before Oct. 1, 2011, on Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. until noon and 1-3 p.m.

    A birth certificate, proof of residency and doctor’s signed proof of the following immunizations are required by state law.

    The following doccuments also will be required: Chicken Pox Vaccine — Either proof of immunization from a physician or a parent letter stating child had chicken pox and date of disease; Hepatitis B vaccination series, 3 shot series; Diphtheria, Tetanus Toxoid and Pertussis Vaccine — 4 doses with 1 dose given after the fourth birthday or any 5; Polio Virus Vaccine — Children need 3 doses of IPV or OPV, with one dose after the 4th birthday or any 4 doses; and Measles, Mumps and Rubella Vaccine (MMR) — two doses.

    A physical exam done within 365 days of starting school in September will be needed before the registration is finalized.

    All paperwork should be complete by June 10.

    To avoid long waiting times for parents and tots, registration will be by appointment only. Appointments will be made through the school office (973-827-7126 x 101), which you can begin scheduling by calling on Feb. 1 or afterward.
