Wallkill Valley school wins charity bowl

Sussex County Clerk Jeff Parrott recently presented Wallkill Valley Regional High School the Champions of Charity Bowl for collecting the most food of all the schools in the county.

Board member Robert Carlson accepted the award for the school.

Student Council Advisor Lori Parrott and Student Council President Dylan Koch were the catalyst who got the students motivated and involved in collecting 11,330 lbs. of Food "making it happen for Sussex County.:

Interim Superintendent/Principal Robert Walker said the Wallkill Region embraces the belief that here is no exercise in this world like lightening the burden of another.

We are so extremely proud of all that our wonderful students have accomplished this past year collecting over 5 1/2 tons of food for others," he said.

In addition to this year's enormous food collection the students raised $21,000 for the March of Dimes and 3,000 for ALS (Lou Gehrig) research and patient care and raise hundreds for Veterans.
