Teams from around the state attempted to pull an 80,000-pound Army Tank at the fifth annual Knights of Columbus Army Tank Pull.

The event is to support the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps wounded and disabled veterans.

Teams were made up of 20 members and ranging from different sectors of society. There were two events: a team event based upon speed of pull and a second event that was based upon the lowest combined bodyweight. The tank, chained to a flat bed truck, was required to move a distance of 10 feet in oder to be a completed pull.

The fastest time in the team event was 5.03 seconds by the Regina Mundi Knights of Columbus and the lowest pull was 83lbs bodyweight by the P&A Auto Parts team. The Paterson Federation Knights of Columbus represented the Sparta area, and finished with a team time of 6.1 seconds. The team was represented by Jeremy Slate of Hamburg in the individual event, pulling the tank at a bodyweight of 177lbs.

Over the past three years, the tank pull event has raised over $500,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, ranking it as one of the programs largest fundraisers of the year.
