The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is proud to present Senior Day at the New Jersey State Fair. Join us under the Performing Arts Tent at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., to participate in this special celebration. This year's program will showcase music from the 30s, 40s and 50s including tunes from Big Band to Band Stand.

The Division of Senior Services encourages individuals attending the event to dress in period costumes. A prize will be given to the individual with the best costume. In addition, the festivities will include a dance-off competition to music from Glen Miller and other Big Band performers. To participate in the dance competition, pre-registration is necessary. A prize will also be given to the winner of the dance competition. All attendees will enjoy lively entertainment, light refreshments, door prizes, valuable information from venders and promotional give-a-ways. Each year a highlight of this event includes the announcement of the Sussex County Senior of the Year and the recognition of all those individuals nominated. The Sussex County Skylands Ride "Bus Driver Safety Awards" will also be presented at the event.

"Attending this high-spirited and energetic event will provide seniors with the opportunity to gain information about local services, have fun with friends and enjoy a morning of vast entertainment," said Lorraine Hentz, director of the Sussex County Division of Senior Services.
