The Art Gallery at Sussex County Community College is presenting an exhibition of collaborative work between visual art and poetry. The exhibition entitled Double Exposure II, has been in preparation for a year by SCCC English professor Priscilla Orr and Art Gallery Coordinator Douglas Petersen. Fifteen writers worked from pieces of visual art including painting, drawing, photography and digital art to create poetry.

“Starting with the paintings, photos and graphic art from the artists, poets chose an image as an inspiration, but don’t look for a literal translation of the artwork," Priscilla Orr states. "Instead, what the art evoked in the writer is conveyed in poetry.”

The poems and the artwork will be on display in the gallery in Building C on the campus until Nov. 15. The gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For directions visit www.Sussex.edu.
