Franklin — SussexBank’s ninth annual Senior Citizen Holiday Service Project was coordinated by Jane Brennan, the bank’s human resources assistant. Again this year, bank employees made ornaments to decorate a “Giving Tree.” Each ornament had a tag attached to it that listed a needed item for a local senior citizen. Bank customers chose an ornament from the Giving Tree and then donated it to the Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Additionally, SussexBank employees participated in an “Adopt and Grant Their Wish” program, which ultimately provided needed items to senior citizens at the Sussex County Homestead Nursing Home, also located in Newton. “Since we very much wanted to spread a little holiday joy and cheer this season, we encouraged our SussexBank employees and customers alike to reach out and touch the life of a senior citizen in our community,” said Brennan. “It was a highly rewarding experience for all.”
