SUSSEX — Chris Parrott, the mayor of Sussex Borough, suffered a heart attack on Dec. 14 while visiting his Lake George, N.Y., vacation home, according to Sussex Borough Clerk Cathy Gleason. Parrott, the owner of the Sussex Inn, “left me a long message last night (Dec. 15) and he sounded very good,” said Gleason. Parrott is being treated at Glens Falls Hospital and is expected to be released on Dec. 18 “and back at work on Monday” Dec. 21, said Gleason. The Sussex Borough Council meeting scheduled for Dec. 15 was postponed until noon on Friday, Dec. 18. Sussex Borough Council President Bruce LaBar will run the meeting, said Gleason. But contrary to other published reports, LaBar is not serving as the acting mayor while Parrott is out, said Gleason.
