Volunteers gathered to beautify the Vernon PAL building in honor of Earth Day, April 22. Under the direction of Jay Meerendonk, owner of Countryside Landscaping, the group donated time and materials for the project. They designed and built a new walkway and redesigned the existing landscaping, adding new flower beds to the front of the building. Those involved included: Countryside Landscaping, Aspen Companies, Mel-Vics Creations, Heaven Hill Farm, Valley Mason, Baldwin Sand and Gravel, Little Anthony’s Pizza and Richard J. Cosh Excavating. All of these companies are donating products to be used for the beautification project which includes building and designing a new walkway and redesigning the current landscape and adding new flower beds to the front of the building. The project was inspired by the PLANET day of Service, which is an annual event held around the country.
