Sponsors line up for 2010 charity gala
Vernon The Vernon Education Foundation’s Fourth Annual White Lights/Black Tie Formal Charity Gala will be held in the Diamond Ballroom at Minerals Hotel and Spa, on Saturday, March 27. Individual ticket prices cost $100, which includes a four-course dinner, open bar and a full evening of entertainment. Guests will be serenaded by the Vernon High School Chamber Group, followed by popular tunes spun during dinner and culminating with entertainment by the local band Full Slate for dancing until midnight. A silent auction is also on the evening’s schedule. In past years items auctioned off have included VIP tickets for Giants games; signed sports memorabilia; vacation, ski and spa packages and a full range of gift baskets and items all donated by local individuals and businesses. All hands in The Gala is underwritten by area businesses and professionals, many of whom are repeat Charter Gold Sponsors since the 2007 inaugural event. Despite challenging economic conditions, event organizers note that those sponsors have prioritized community support as a top concern. Vernon Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to foster, promote and enhance traditional and innovative approaches for excellence in the Vernon Public Schools and to encourage community-wide interest and involvement in, and support of, the Vernon Public Schools. The organization meets the second Tuesday evening of every month at Lounsberry Hollow School and welcomes new members.
