Franklin Borough Police received a report on Jan. 14 from another law enforcement agency that an adult male had been interacting with a juvenile via the internet and was believed to be in possession of child pornography.

Following an investigation and execution of search warrants by the Franklin Borough Police Detective Bureau, Stefancik was taken into custody.

The Franklin Borough Police Department investigated with the assistance of the Sussex County Prosecutors Office High Tech Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police K9 Unit, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Internet Crime Unit, and the West Milford Police Department Detective Bureau.

Jordanna Capiello, 26, of Hamburg was charged with harassment for the second time in two months.

Capiello had previously been charged on Feb. 14, with aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, after biting Officer Nicholas Della Fera after police had responded to a dispute call.

Since her initial arrest, Ms. Cappiello has made several harassing communications to the officer, both in person and electronically. As a result, she was charged with harassment in November of 2019 for making the harassing communications. After being released, Ms. Capiello continued the harassing communications toward the officer.

A complaint warrant was ultimately issued due to the fact she is on pre-trial release, and refused to respond to Franklin Police Headquarters to answer the charges.

Capiello was located in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey at approximately 9 p.m. on and taken into custody. Franklin police transported Ms. Capiello to the Sussex County Jail, per the New Jersey bail reform act, pending an appearance in Central Judicial Processing in Sussex County Superior Court.
