Plans gel for Franklin festival

Franklin — Franklin Nite this year will be held on Saturday, June 5 at the Franklin Pond Recreation Area. Rain Date is June 6. Opening ceremonies begin at 4 p.m. with the release of doves, a show of the “colors” and some political dignitaries will speak, including Mayor Paul Crowley and Sen. Steven Oroho. Other events for the day will include the Little Miss and the Little Mister contests for children ages 4 to 6; a petting zoo, a visit from Tallulah the clown, talent contests for children of all ages, games, a dunk tank, pie-eating contest, a 50-50 raffle, music, fireworks and more.
