Three Sussex County farmers recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to join another 20 from New Jersey who were chosen to take part in the two-year New Jersey Agricultural Leadership Program. Carolyn A. Gerdes, owner of Tier Haus Farms in Wantage, Raj Sinha, owner of Liberty Farm in Sandyston and Bradley Klemm, who works for Brodhecker Farm in Newton were the local winners. They spent four days in the capital, meeting with government officials to discuss a variety of agricultural, open space and natural resources issues. For more information, visit www.njagsociety.org.
