A state appellate court has upheld a December 2007 decision by the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education to censure Raymond Delbury, a former board member of the Sussex-Wantage Regional School District, over an ethics violation. The decision to censure Delbury was made after the state’s School Ethics Commission ruled in October 2007 that he had violated the state’s School Ethics Act when he posted confidential medical information about an employee of the Wantage School on a Web site in October 2007. Delbury was elected as a member of the district’s board of education in April 2006. He was suspended for six months beginning in Jan. 2009 and he decided not to run for re-election this past April. Delbury couldn’t be reached for comment.
