Zbigniew (‘Ziggy’) Jeniec

Zbigniew (“Ziggy”) Jeniec of Wantage, N.J., passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was 66.

Born in Rozwadow, Poland, to the late Czeslaw and Zenobia (Szwedo) Jeniec, Ziggy came to the United States in 1992. He lived in Garfield and Wallington before settling in Wantage in 2002. Ziggy worked for many years at the Sussex County Technical School.

Ziggy loved gardening and spending time at home with his family. Ziggy was strong and fought back against being sick with everything he had.

He was predeceased by his parents. Ziggy is survived by his loving wife, Maria (Trela) Jeniec; daughters, Magdalena Kamecki and her husband, Peter, of Newfoundland, N.J., and Agnieszka “Agnes” Lorenc and husband, Robert, of Franklin, N.J.; grandchildren, Margaret and her partner, Bobby, Allison, Sebastian, Isabella, and David; great-grandson, Arthur; his brother and two sisters in Poland; and his beloved “grand-pets,” Charlie, Eddie, Joey, and Cat George.

A visitation for Ziggy was held March 17 at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin. A Funeral Mass followed at the Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin. Cremation services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin, where he was a longtime parishoner.
