Margaret Auche McCollum

Margaret Auche McCollum of Wantage Township, N.J., passed away at Newton Medical Center on Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was 82.

Born to Steve and Tillie Auche in Franklin, N.J., she has lived in the area all her life.

Margaret was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved travelling to Florida with her daughter Connie to visit her niece, Joan and her husband, Paul, staying there for months at a time. Margaret enjoyed doing puzzles, going to Bingo and casinos.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Robert McCollum (1985); her son, Robert McCollum (1985); her grandson, Eric Rubio (2021); and brothers and sisters, Joseph, Steven, Frank and George Auche, Edith Colins, Lillian Hornyak, Mary Hornyak, and Ruth Bognar.

She is the devoted mother of Margaret Zill and her husband, Daniel, of Wantage Township, Edward Dunay and his wife, Nona, of Buena Vista, Calif., and Connie Dunay of Wantage Township; loving grandmother of Nicole, Thoma and her husband, Thomas, of Wantage Township, Danielle Barry and her husband, Ken, of Wantage Township, Angelica Ranieri and her husband, Matthew, of Pennsylvania, Samantha Struble and her husband, Grant, of Pennsylvania, and Sara Halke of Pennsylvania; and cherished by 15 great-grandchildren.

Private cremation services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J. A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be planned for a later date.
