Local area students receive college honors
William Paterson University The following students at William Paterson University in Wayne have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester: Stephen Aikey, Louis Colucci, Jasen Corrente, Christina Freer, Brian Heacook, Kevin Somers, Nicole Trossman, Nicholas Woronekin, Tatev Yeghiazaryan, and Danielle Zeltner of Hewitt; Anna O’Sullivan, Daniel Trappe, and Susan Wright of Newfoundland; Felicia Gorman, Matthew Lutz, Kevin Lynch, Danielle Schaefer, DeAnna Vander Ploeg, and Jennifer Whritenour of Oak Ridge; Bryan Carbone, Christopher Carbone, Janice DePrima, Linda Finaldi, Chelsea Fretterd, Joseph Hickey, Lynn Jenkins, Alison McGuire, Kenneth Ryerson, Christina Schwartzman, and Kira Worley of West Milford. In order to qualify, a student must carry a minimum of 12 credits for the semester and earn a grade point average of 3.45 or better. Rider University Scott Brewer of West Milford was named to the Rider University dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester. Brewer is an English and history major. Virginia Tech Margaret A. Mohrenweiser of West Milford was named to the dean’s list at Virginia Tech for the fall 2008 semester. Mohrenweiser is a freshman majoring in general engineering in the university’s College of Engineering. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must take at least 12 credit hours of classes and earn a 3.4 grade point average. Worcester Polytechnic Institute John Madura, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Madura of Hewitt, was named to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s fall 2008 dean’s list. Madura is a freshman majoring in Mechanical Engineering. The criteria for the WPI dean’s list differ from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average. Instead, WPI defines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
