Hopatcong Mom writes book about the area's best playgrounds
The Playground Guide, Best of Sussex and Warren Counties,’ available for $12.95 HOPATCONG Hopatcong resident Lynn Anne Cutler is the author of a new book, “The Playground Guide, Best of Sussex and Warren Counties,” which includes the location of more than 120 publicly accessible playgrounds in Sussex and Warren counties. The book includes a five star rating system and the best playgrounds are displayed with photos, directions, equipment descriptions, and details on critical amenities like parking, handicap accessibility, bathrooms, picnicking, and sports fields. Each playground also includes a “make a day of it” recommendation which outlines something fun to do nearby. “My husband and I love to travel with our three kids to different playgrounds,” said Cutler. “We go to enjoy the fresh air or find something unique or different and fun in our local area. A big thing we love about playgrounds is that they are free. You can easily combine a trip to a new playground with a visit to one of our many local farms or other attractions and create a full day of adventure.” On Saturday March 6 at 11 a.m. Cutler be at Sparta Books on Saturday, March 6 and Open Book in Newton on Wednesday March 10 at 10 a.m. At both locations she will read children’s stories about playground fun, safety and etiquette and lead a children’s craft. The books will also be available for purchase and signing. The 128 page book is in full color and retails for $12.95.
